Park Academy proudly came together to celebrate Jeans for Genes Day, trading our usual uniforms for denim in support of children and young people living with genetic disorders.
It was fantastic to see pupils and staff rocking their favourite jeans, jackets and accessories, creating a sea of blue across the school while raising vital funds for life-changing medical research, support services and family resources.
The day provided an excellent opportunity for our school community to learn more about the challenges faced by children with genetic conditions, while also recognising the importance of kindness, inclusion and understanding. Through discussions in class and conversations throughout the day, pupils developed their awareness of how we can all make a positive difference by supporting others and contributing to important causes.
At Park Academy, we are committed to helping our pupils become compassionate and responsible citizens who understand the value of helping those in need. Events such as Jeans for Genes Day not only raise money but also encourage children to think about the impact they can have within their wider community.
We would like to say a huge thank you to all of our families, pupils and staff who took part and donated so generously. Your support has helped make the day a great success and demonstrates the caring spirit that makes Park Academy such a special place.
Together, we have shown that even a simple act, such as wearing a pair of jeans, can help raise awareness, inspire conversations and contribute towards making a real difference to the lives of others.
